Summer Training Series 2009

 

Project LINK is pleased to announce its Summer training for parents and educators of the Greater Capital Region.

 

Our Presenter:

Dr. James Partington, BCBA-D is a licensed psychologist and Owner/Director of Behavior Analysts Inc. and STARS Clinic in Walnut Creek, CA. He and his company have more than 30 years in the field of teaching children with disabilities. Dr. Partington is the co-author of Teaching Language to Children with Autism Other Developmental Disabilities and author of The Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLStm-R) and WebABLLS He is published in a verity of journals for his research. Dr. Partington and Behavior Analysts Inc. provide extensive training opportunities, consultation services, workshops, STARS model classrooms and clinical services for children and families.  The workshops he presents are based on his research and findings, within the field of Applied Behavioral Analysis, utilizing the conceptual framework of verbal behavior as developed by B.F. Skinner in 1957.  Parents, families, early intervention programs, preschool programs and school districts benefit from his trainings across the country and abroad. 

 

Two impressive topics in one day! Monday July 20, 2009 9-12  and 1-4 respectively!

 

Motivate your child to participate in Learning Tasks! Educator and Parents often find the most difficult task is to engage there student/child. This workshop will explore the motivational variable and how YOU can gain the instructional control and Joint Attention you need to maximize your learners potential. Participants will learn through example of best practice and theory how to provide an optimal learning environment.

Functional Behavioral Assessments. THE MYTHS, THE TRUTH!! This workshop explores the elements required for an appropriate FBA. Professionals, Educators and Parents need to understand the elements necessary for development and documentation surrounding these types of supports. Participants will learn the necessary steps for the development of a functional Behavioral Assessment, along with the when and why!

 

Project LINK’s exclusive I have questions, do you have answers? Series 8: Thursday July 23, 2009 at Malta Town Hall from 8:30am-12:00pm. This event is an open forum for parents, educators and administrators to bring their questions to Dr. Partington and receive direct assistance from one of the nations leading experts in the field.  Topics to be discussed will include: Behavior, Developing ADL’s, Language, Social Skills, Inclusion Strategies, Program Management, Classroom/Home Design and many more.  If you have a particular topic of interest not included above please send it in with your registration form. 

 

  As always there is no cost for any of these workshops as Project LINK is committed to helping our region.
